Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching and learning by preparing and maintaining science equipment and resources.
- Ensure the safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals in accordance with COSHH and ESCC regulations.
- Provide guidance and assistance to students and teachers on practical aspects of the science curriculum.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and safety checks.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure that science laboratories are well-organised and conducive to learning.
- Identify and prioritise work tasks, managing own workload and that of others effectively.
- Comply with health and safety legislation relevant to the role.
- Contribute to the development of a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A Levels or NVQ3 in Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities (LATA) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation relevant to school environments.
- Understanding of COSHH and ESCC regulations for the safe handling and storage of chemicals.
- Ability to support students and teachers with practical science curriculum needs.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
