The Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated Science Technician to join our Science Department and support teaching staff and students in delivering high-quality science education. This role involves preparing and maintaining practical resources, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment for all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and distribute practical materials to the appropriate laboratories.
- Ensure all used materials are cleaned, stored, and disposed of in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist students during practical sessions when required.
- Contribute to the development of new practical experiments and demonstrations.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
- Support teaching staff in delivering science lessons and practical activities.
- Keep accurate records of materials used and stock levels.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to departmental planning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a similar role or willingness to undergo full training.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills with both students and staff.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of science curriculum and practical teaching methods.
