The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Science Technician to join our Science Department and support teaching staff and students in delivering high-quality science education. This role involves preparing and maintaining practical resources, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and distribute practical materials to the appropriate laboratories.
Ensure all used materials are cleaned, stored, and disposed of in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Assist students during practical sessions when required.
Contribute to the development of new practical experiments and demonstrations.
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
Support teaching staff in delivering science lessons and practical activities.
Keep accurate records of materials used and stock levels.
Participate in staff meetings and contribute to departmental planning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

Experience in a similar role or willingness to undergo full training.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills with both students and staff.

Preferred

Experience in a school or educational setting.
Knowledge of science curriculum and practical teaching methods.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and safety protocols.
Experience with developing and implementing practical science activities.
