A Science Technician is needed to support the Science Department by ensuring the safe and efficient operation of laboratories. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about science education and committed to providing a high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure safe and effective use.
- Prepare and organize laboratory resources for teaching and practical sessions.
- Support science staff with the setup and breakdown of experiments and demonstrations.
- Monitor and manage laboratory budgets and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all laboratory activities.
- Assist in the maintenance and storage of chemicals and scientific materials.
- Provide guidance to students on the safe use of laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with science teachers to support curriculum delivery and student learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working in a school, college, or university laboratory setting.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative in managing laboratory operations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to health and safety standards.
Preferred
- Experience with budget monitoring and resource management.
- Previous experience in a science teaching environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with science curriculum and teaching requirements.
