The Opportunity:
A Science Technician is needed to support practical science learning across key stages 3 to 5. This role is essential in ensuring students have access to high-quality science resources and experiences that enhance their learning and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage science equipment and resources to ensure they are safe and functional.
- Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons and experiments.
- Support teachers in delivering practical science activities and experiments.
- Assist in the storage, cleaning, and organization of science equipment and chemicals.
- Monitor and report on the condition of laboratory equipment and suggest improvements.
- Collaborate with science staff to develop and implement science-based learning activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in science laboratories.
- Assist in the maintenance of science laboratories and associated areas.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in a science laboratory or technical support role.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a school setting.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience with science equipment and practical experiments.
Preferred
- Experience working in an all-through school environment.
- Familiarity with science curriculum requirements for key stages 3 to 5.
- Experience with the management of science resources and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
