The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Science Technician to support the smooth running of the Science faculty. This role is essential to ensuring practical lessons are delivered safely and effectively, and that all equipment and materials are well maintained. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Science team and will contribute to the school's mission of excellence in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for Science lessons
- Assist teachers with demonstrations and practical work
- Ensure all health and safety standards are met in the Science department
- Monitor and manage stock levels of consumables and equipment
- Support students and staff during practical lessons
- Communicate effectively with Science teachers and students
- Participate in the induction and training programme provided
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant scientific background or qualifications
- Experience in chemistry, biology, physics, or health and safety
- Strong practical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills with students and staff
- IT literacy and ability to use relevant software
Preferred
- Previous experience as a Science Technician
- Experience working in a secondary school environment
- Familiarity with modern Science laboratory equipment
- Experience with health and safety protocols in educational settings
- Commitment to the Christian ethos of the school
