The Opportunity:
As a Science Tutor, you will deliver one-to-one lessons to students with diverse needs, helping them achieve their academic goals in Science Studies. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through individualised teaching and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualised Science lessons tailored to each student's academic level and learning objectives.
- Teach a range of Science topics at GCSE, A-Level, or equivalent levels.
- Promote scientific understanding, engagement, and motivation in students.
- Adapt teaching methods to support students with special educational needs and learning challenges.
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
- Collaborate with pastoral teams to ensure holistic support for each student.
- Maintain thorough records of lessons and progress in line with educational requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching Science.
- Experience teaching KS3 Science, GCSE Combined and Triple Science, or AQA Spec A-Level Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Excellent knowledge of the Science curriculum and related topics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire students in a one-to-one setting.
- Flexibility to work in various locations, including students’ homes or other designated learning environments.
- A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
Preferred
- Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
