The Opportunity:

As a Secondary Art and Design Technology Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring and educating students in creative subjects. You will contribute to a dynamic and supportive learning environment that values innovation, cultural sensitivity, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Art and Design Technology according to departmental schemes of work and curriculum requirements
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Monitor and assess student progress through formative and summative assessments
  • Collaborate with the Head of Department on curriculum development, internal exams, and policy implementation
  • Provide regular written reports to parents and maintain open communication with families
  • Support the school’s moral education programme and participate in pastoral activities
  • Cover lessons, invigilate exams, and assist with school events and activities
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings, INSET training, and CPD sessions
  • Develop and share teaching resources and support colleagues in professional development

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor of Education or a subject degree plus PGCE
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Art and Design Technology
  • Fluency in English

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Cross-cultural work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Experience in pastoral care or student mentoring
