The Opportunity:
A Secondary Biology Teacher is needed to inspire students aged 11-18 in a dynamic and supportive environment. The role involves delivering engaging lessons that prepare students for IGCSE and A-Level examinations, while fostering a deep understanding of biology concepts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality biology lessons to students across Key Stages 3 to 5
- Prepare and implement engaging, curriculum-aligned lesson plans
- Support students in achieving excellent results in IGCSE and A-Level exams
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science department's overall performance
- Promote student wellbeing and academic growth through effective teaching and pastoral support
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and professional development
- Monitor and assess student progress through regular assessments and feedback
- Maintain accurate records and report student performance to parents and senior staff
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in biology or a closely related subject
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum of two years' teaching experience in a British curriculum school
- Proven ability to deliver biology at KS3, GCSE (KS4), and A-Level (KS5)
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
Preferred
- Experience with specific exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, or OCR)
- Track record of excellent student outcomes at GCSE and A-Level
- Experience teaching in an international school setting
