The Opportunity:
As a Secondary Biology Teacher, you will play a vital role in inspiring the next generation of scientists and critical thinkers. You will deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that align with the IB and Swiss Baccalaureate curricula, while supporting students in achieving academic success and personal growth in a multilingual and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality Biology lessons aligned with the IB and Swiss Baccalaureate frameworks.
- Foster a dynamic, student-centered learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Support students in achieving academic excellence through differentiated instruction, formative assessments, and personalized learning strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement cross-curricular and STEAM-based learning experiences.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support individual learning goals.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the school’s academic and pedagogical standards.
- Engage with students, parents, and the wider school community to promote a culture of respect, inclusivity, and global awareness.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance in accordance with school policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recognized bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related science discipline.
- A valid teaching qualification or certification, preferably with experience in an international school setting.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of the IB and Swiss Baccalaureate curricula and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to student-centered, inquiry-based teaching and learning.
Preferred
- Experience teaching in a multilingual or international school environment.
- Familiarity with the use of educational technology in the classroom.
- Experience with bilingual or immersive language programs.
- Experience with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) integration in curriculum design.
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience within a school community.
