The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and qualified Secondary Chemistry Teacher to join a dynamic Science department. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality lessons that support students in achieving success in IGCSE and A-Level examinations, while contributing to a supportive and well-resourced educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach chemistry to students aged 11-18 across Key Stages 3 to 5
  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that develop deep conceptual understanding
  • Prepare students for IGCSE and A-Level examinations
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and high-quality Science department
  • Support student wellbeing and academic progress
  • Stay up to date with curriculum changes and pedagogical best practices
  • Participate in departmental meetings and planning sessions
  • Provide regular feedback to students and parents

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in chemistry or a closely related subject
  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
  • Minimum of two years' teaching experience in a British curriculum school
  • Proven ability to deliver chemistry at KS3, GCSE (KS4), and A-Level (KS5)
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills

Preferred

  • Experience with specific exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, or OCR)
  • Track record of excellent student outcomes at GCSE and A-Level
  • Experience teaching in an international school setting
