The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and qualified Secondary Chemistry Teacher to join a dynamic Science department. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality lessons that support students in achieving success in IGCSE and A-Level examinations, while contributing to a supportive and well-resourced educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach chemistry to students aged 11-18 across Key Stages 3 to 5
- Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that develop deep conceptual understanding
- Prepare students for IGCSE and A-Level examinations
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and high-quality Science department
- Support student wellbeing and academic progress
- Stay up to date with curriculum changes and pedagogical best practices
- Participate in departmental meetings and planning sessions
- Provide regular feedback to students and parents
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in chemistry or a closely related subject
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum of two years' teaching experience in a British curriculum school
- Proven ability to deliver chemistry at KS3, GCSE (KS4), and A-Level (KS5)
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
Preferred
- Experience with specific exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, or OCR)
- Track record of excellent student outcomes at GCSE and A-Level
- Experience teaching in an international school setting
