Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Computer Science across Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and IB Diploma curricula.
- Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that inspire student interest and achievement in computing.
- Support students in developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
- Contribute to the pastoral and extra-curricular life of the school.
- Stay up to date with developments in computing education and integrate new technologies into the classroom.
- Provide individualized support and guidance to students, ensuring their progress and well-being.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A teaching degree or post-graduate diploma (B.Ed, M.Ed, PGCE or equivalent).
- Experience in teaching Computer Science at the secondary level.
- Familiarity with the British education system and the National Curriculum.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
Preferred
- Experience teaching the IB Diploma or IB Careers Programme.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Experience with digital tools and technologies used in modern computing education.
- Ability to support students with special educational needs (SEN) and English as an Additional Language (EAL).
