Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach drama across all secondary key stages, including GCSE and A Level, using a variety of engaging and innovative delivery methods.
  • Maintain discipline and encourage positive behavior in line with the school’s policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the drama department’s strategic action plan.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and address concerns promptly.
  • Prepare and update subject materials, including schemes of work and teaching resources.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to support the overall vision and mission of the institution.
  • Ensure compliance with all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and child protection standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Fully qualified teacher with a BEd, MEd, PGCE, QTS or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching drama in a high-quality department.
  • Proven ability to teach up to GCSE/IGCSE with a track record of strong performance outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to deliver innovative lessons based on current pedagogical thinking.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and leading drama initiatives or extracurricular activities.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with British curriculum standards and assessment practices.
