Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging English Literature lessons aligned with the MYP and DP frameworks.
  • Foster a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that promotes curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Assess student progress in English Literature and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects and activities.
  • Support and promote the school’s ethos through active participation in school events and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Manage classroom behavior to ensure an effective learning environment for all students.
  • Keep informed about technological innovations that support and drive student outcomes.
  • Plan in ManageBac and be familiar with school policies and procedures.
  • Attend weekly briefings, subject meetings, and relevant programme meetings.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Education and English Literature; Master’s degree is advantageous.
  • Teaching certification with a focus on English Literature and knowledge of the MYP and DP (IB) curriculum.
  • Minimum 2 years proven experience in teaching secondary school English Literature.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the International Baccalaureate curriculum and assessment practices.

Preferred

  • Experience in pastoral care or advisory roles.
  • Familiarity with data-driven teaching and student progress tracking.
  • Experience with interdisciplinary and project-based learning.
