Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality history lessons to Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 students.
  • Inspire curiosity and critical thinking through innovative teaching methods and historical inquiry.
  • Design and implement a dynamic curriculum that aligns with IB standards.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and enrichment programs that enhance student learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student progress and school initiatives.
  • Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes safeguarding and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practices through professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Teaching Qualification (e.g., QTS) and TRN or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in teaching history at the secondary level.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality instruction at IB level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in history with the ability to engage students in debate and inquiry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies.

Preferred

  • Experience in high-performing international schools.
  • Background in curriculum design and enrichment activities.
  • Flexibility to work in a diverse and international community.
  • Experience with digital resources and technology in the classroom.
