The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary History Teacher to join our thriving secondary department. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' learning and development, while contributing to a school that values innovation, collaboration, and excellence in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach History across the age and ability range, including GCSE and A-Level.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements and promote student progress.
  • Use data to monitor and support student learning, implementing timely interventions where needed.
  • Prepare students for public examinations and maintain accurate records of their progress.
  • Communicate effectively with parents through reports and attendance at Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to shape departmental policy and curriculum initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development and keep up to date with developments in the subject area.
  • Support beginning teachers and take responsibility for designated areas of the curriculum or administration.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and experience in British Curriculum schools.
  • Proven experience teaching GCSE and A-Level History.
  • Strong understanding of assessment and examination requirements for KS3, KS4, and KS5.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student well-being and academic progress.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum innovation and CPD.
  • Background in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Familiarity with DSIB inspection framework and UAE educational initiatives.
