The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and inspirational Secondary Music Teacher to join our dynamic Creative Arts Department. The role involves teaching Music to students from Years 6-11, with the potential to teach A Level Music from 2027-28. The successful candidate will play a key role in inspiring students and delivering high-quality learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Music lessons to students across Key Stages 2-4.
  • Support students in developing their musical knowledge, skills and performance abilities.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the school’s Music curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Creative Arts Department to enhance student learning.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and wider school life.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.
  • Monitor and assess student progress in line with school standards.
  • Stay up to date with current developments in Music education and pedagogy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree and teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Secondary aged students across Key Stages 3-4.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to the highest standards of teaching and learning.

Preferred

  • Experience working with EAL learners from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
  • Native or fluent English speaker with strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Experience in teaching A Level Music.
  • Passion for music and the performing arts.
