The Opportunity:

As a Secondary School Counselor, you will play a key role in supporting students grades 9–12 with academic, personal, social, and career development. You will guide students through the college admissions process and contribute to a comprehensive counseling program that fosters wellbeing and student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver a three-tiered counseling program that supports student wellbeing and social-emotional learning.
  • Provide academic, personal, and career counseling to students and parents.
  • Facilitate academic advising discussions and help students create schedules.
  • Coordinate college admissions processes, including PSAT and SAT registration.
  • Support students through transitions, including new student orientation and mid-year arrivals.
  • Deliver wellbeing, careers, and pathways curriculum as part of the Yuu Nai program.
  • Collaborate with DP and CAS Coordinators to deliver the Core+ program.
  • Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and behavior support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience in academic and college counseling.
  • Demonstrated ability to support student wellbeing and success.
  • Experience in facilitating personal, social, and emotional learning programs.
  • Expertise in global college admissions processes, including international pathways.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in counseling.
  • Minimum of two years experience as an international school counselor.
  • Experience working with students and parents during admissions processes in the US, UK, Canada, Europe, and Asia.
  • Certification as a school counselor.
  • Proficiency in ManageBac, BridgeU, and CPOMS.
