The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and qualified Secondary Science Teacher (Chemistry/Physics) to join an expanding department and contribute to the continued improvement of student academic outcomes. This role provides an opportunity to work with a dedicated team in a stimulating and international educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Chemistry and/or Physics lessons to students at (I)GCSE and A Level, with experience in IB also being considered.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that support student learning and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Science department’s overall performance and curriculum development.
  • Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with English as an Additional Language.
  • Participate in the assessment and examination process, including potential roles as an examiner for (I)GCSE and/or A Level.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A bachelor's (or equivalent) degree in Chemistry/Physics or a closely related field.
  • A relevant postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
  • Proven experience teaching (I)GCSE and A Level Chemistry/Physics to a high standard.

Preferred

  • A master's or postgraduate qualification in a related subject.
  • Experience working with EAL pupils (English as an Additional Language).
  • Experience or interest in being an examiner for (I)GCSE and/or A Level.
