Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective science lessons to students across a range of year groups.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with the National Curriculum for England and school-specific initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement in attainment and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support a culture of professional development.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events that promote student engagement and learning beyond the classroom.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.
  • Support the school’s ethos of ‘Every Child, Every Mind and Everybody matters’ through positive student interactions and pastoral care.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative science projects, including those in partnership with external organisations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A B.Ed. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with exceptional subject knowledge in Science.
  • At least 3 years of experience teaching within the National Curriculum for England.
  • Experience of teaching Science from KS3 to KS5.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching English from KS3 to KS5.
  • Ability to teach another subject.
  • Experience with AI and technology-based learning initiatives.
  • Experience with international curricula or cross-cultural teaching environments.
