The Opportunity:

As a Secondary Science Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality science education to students across the age and ability range, including GCSE and A-Level. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach science across the full range of key stages, including GCSE and A-Level.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and policy.
  • Monitor and track student progress using data to inform teaching and provide timely interventions.
  • Prepare students for public examinations and ensure assessments are accurately recorded and reported.
  • Communicate effectively with parents through written reports and attendance at Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings.
  • Maintain a positive and disciplined learning environment in the classroom.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development and innovation.
  • Collaborate with support teachers and take responsibility for mentoring beginning teachers.
  • Stay updated with curriculum developments and actively engage in professional development opportunities.
  • Support UAE initiatives and cultural expectations within the school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and experience in British Curriculum schools.
  • Proven experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Science.
  • Strong understanding of assessment and examination requirements for KS3, KS4, and KS5.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding teaching and ensure student progress.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current in the subject area.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum innovation or leadership within a teaching department.
  • Familiarity with the DSIB inspection framework and UAE educational standards.
  • Experience in developing and delivering extracurricular science activities or projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for fostering student curiosity and engagement in science.
