The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Secondary Science Teacher to join our growing team and deliver engaging, inquiry-based science lessons across KS3. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students' learning and development in a supportive and innovative school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons across KS3, with a focus on Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Create an inclusive, inspiring, and academically challenging classroom environment
  • Use practical investigations, demonstrations, and modelling to support conceptual understanding
  • Embed oracy, scientific discussion, questioning, and reasoning into everyday teaching
  • Develop students’ scientific knowledge, enquiry skills, and use of subject-specific vocabulary
  • Plan engaging and progressive schemes of work aligned with the National Curriculum for Science
  • Support learners in becoming confident scientific thinkers and communicators
  • Contribute positively to STEM initiatives, enrichment activities, and whole-school events

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – PGCE, BEd or equivalent
  • UK bachelor’s degree in Science or a related discipline
  • Recent teaching experience in a UK or BSO-accredited school
  • Proficiency in delivering the National Curriculum for Science at KS3
  • Confidence teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Strong classroom management and high expectations for pupil behaviour
  • Strong digital literacy (Google Workspace, shared drives, science-related digital tools)

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Experience with Philosophy for Children (P4C) or other dialogic teaching approaches
  • Experience with oracy-based learning strategies
  • Experience with STEM initiatives or extracurricular activities
