The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Secondary Teacher of Food Preparation and Nutrition to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to teach across a range of ages and abilities, from GCSE to A-Level, while contributing to a supportive and innovative learning environment. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver high-quality lessons and inspire students in this vital subject.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Food Preparation and Nutrition across GCSE and A-Level curricula.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely interventions and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement departmental policies and curricular initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and students through regular reporting and attendance at events.
  • Support and mentor beginning teachers where appropriate.
  • Maintain discipline and order in the classroom while fostering a positive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and experience in British Curriculum schools.
  • Proven experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Food Preparation and Nutrition.
  • Strong understanding of assessment and examination requirements for KS3, KS4, and KS5.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to working as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering Design and Technology classes.
  • Familiarity with the DSIB inspection framework.
  • Experience in curriculum innovation or project management.
  • Willingness to take on leadership roles within the department.
