The Opportunity:

As a Secondary Wellbeing Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting students' emotional and social development. This position is ideal for someone passionate about student wellbeing and looking to make a meaningful impact in a forward-thinking, international school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counselling to support students' emotional, social, and academic wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff to develop and implement student support plans.
  • Deliver wellbeing workshops and sessions to students, staff, and parents.
  • Monitor and assess student progress and wellbeing, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Promote a positive school culture that prioritises mental health and emotional resilience.
  • Participate in professional development and training to stay current with best practices in student support.
  • Support the school's mission by fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Assist with crisis intervention and referrals to external support services when necessary.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Fully qualified and experienced Secondary School Counsellor with a degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Relevant professional teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, teaching diploma, or certification.
  • Minimum of two years' extensive international secondary teaching experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an international school setting.
  • Familiarity with the IB or Swiss Baccalaureate curriculum.
  • Experience with multilingual and multicultural student populations.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • Experience in delivering wellbeing and mental health support programs.
