The Opportunity:
As a Secondary Wellbeing Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting students' emotional and social development. This position is ideal for someone passionate about student wellbeing and looking to make a meaningful impact in a forward-thinking, international school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counselling to support students' emotional, social, and academic wellbeing.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff to develop and implement student support plans.
- Deliver wellbeing workshops and sessions to students, staff, and parents.
- Monitor and assess student progress and wellbeing, maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Promote a positive school culture that prioritises mental health and emotional resilience.
- Participate in professional development and training to stay current with best practices in student support.
- Support the school's mission by fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Assist with crisis intervention and referrals to external support services when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Fully qualified and experienced Secondary School Counsellor with a degree in Psychology or a related field.
- Relevant professional teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, teaching diploma, or certification.
- Minimum of two years' extensive international secondary teaching experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience working in an international school setting.
- Familiarity with the IB or Swiss Baccalaureate curriculum.
- Experience with multilingual and multicultural student populations.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
- Experience in delivering wellbeing and mental health support programs.
