The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, individualized teaching to students with special educational needs, focusing on core subjects and life skills
  • Adapt and implement teaching strategies based on individual learning plans and EHCPs
  • Support the development of functional, social, and communication skills through structured learning activities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and continuity in student support
  • Monitor and report on student progress, providing regular feedback to colleagues
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and sensory-friendly learning environment
  • Contribute to curriculum development and work-related learning programs

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles and needs
  • Confidence in managing and supporting challenging behavior in a positive and effective manner
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive, organized, and resilient approach to teaching
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or work-related learning
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies
  • Experience with behaviour management techniques for students with complex needs
  • Familiarity with assistive technology or sensory-based teaching methods
