The Opportunity:
As a SEN Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities. You will work closely with the SENCO and Teaching Assistants to ensure effective interventions are delivered, helping students reach their full potential. This is a vital role in a school that is committed to providing outstanding education for all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily deployment and performance of Teaching Assistants across the academy.
- Provide administrative support to the SENCO and ensure the tracking and delivery of interventions.
- Deliver bespoke intervention packages to pupils with SEND to remove barriers to learning.
- Support the effective use of resources and staff to enhance student progress.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to complement existing provision and meet student needs.
- Monitor and report on the impact of interventions and support strategies.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and SEN procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a similar role within a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of special educational needs and disability support frameworks.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to manage and coordinate support staff effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and inclusion.
Preferred
- Experience working with students with a range of special educational needs.
- Experience in designing and delivering intervention programmes.
- Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement frameworks.
- Experience with data tracking and reporting systems.
- Experience in a co-educational setting.
