The Opportunity:

As an SEN Teacher, you will provide individualised learning experiences to children and young people with a range of additional needs, including SEN, SEMH, and learning difficulties. This role is ideal for passionate educators who want to make a real difference through creative, flexible, and impactful teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 teaching sessions tailored to individual learning needs and EHCP targets.
  • Develop and implement trauma-informed approaches and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Support students in self-regulating emotions and managing challenging behaviours.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students, families, and other professionals.
  • Create engaging and flexible learning opportunities based on student interests and passions.
  • Work across various environments, including schools, community settings, and home learning.
  • Maintain accurate records and communication with families and support teams.
  • Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching English, Maths, and Science at KS1, KS2, KS3, and GCSE/Functional Skills level
  • Availability during school hours and/or after school
  • Ability to provide face-to-face tuition
  • Valid Enhanced DBS check (support available if required)
  • Full commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Strong communication, timekeeping, and reporting skills
  • Willingness to be registered as self-employed

Preferred

  • Experience working with vulnerable young people and those with SEMH needs
  • Knowledge of developing bespoke learning provision based on individual needs
  • Experience with trauma-informed practices and emotional regulation support
