Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, personalized lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with autism and complex needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and families, to support the holistic development of pupils.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of all pupils, including managing their physical, emotional, and educational needs.
  • Support class teachers with agreed learning plans and contribute to the achievement of educational targets.
  • Encourage pupils to reach their full potential through creative, inclusive, and innovative teaching methods.
  • Participate in training, professional development, and team meetings to enhance teaching practice.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress, ensuring that achievements are celebrated and shared with families.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
  • Experience or a strong interest in working with pupils with SEND, particularly autism and complex needs
  • Ability to create and deliver engaging, individualized lessons
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils

Preferred

  • Experience in a special needs or autism-specific setting
  • Experience with inclusive education and differentiated teaching strategies
  • Familiarity with therapeutic approaches and support techniques
  • Experience with curriculum planning and assessment

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of £39,000 – £43,000 per annum
