Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging, personalized lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with autism and complex needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and families, to support the holistic development of pupils.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families to create a supportive learning environment.
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of all pupils, including managing their physical, emotional, and educational needs.
- Support class teachers with agreed learning plans and contribute to the achievement of educational targets.
- Encourage pupils to reach their full potential through creative, inclusive, and innovative teaching methods.
- Participate in training, professional development, and team meetings to enhance teaching practice.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress, ensuring that achievements are celebrated and shared with families.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
- Experience or a strong interest in working with pupils with SEND, particularly autism and complex needs
- Ability to create and deliver engaging, individualized lessons
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
Preferred
- Experience in a special needs or autism-specific setting
- Experience with inclusive education and differentiated teaching strategies
- Familiarity with therapeutic approaches and support techniques
- Experience with curriculum planning and assessment
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £39,000 – £43,000 per annum
- 4-day working week with full-time pay (subject to probation and successful completion)
