The Opportunity:

As a SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, inclusive education to students aged 9 to 16 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the unique requirements of students with autism and SEMH needs.
  • Support students in achieving academic, social, and emotional progress.
  • Work closely with other staff to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student learning.
  • Prepare students for accredited qualifications and help them reach their full potential.
  • Maintain accurate records and assess student progress regularly.
  • Provide pastoral support and contribute to the overall well-being of students.
  • Collaborate with parents and external agencies to support student development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in special education.
  • Experience working with students with autism and SEMH needs.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with curriculum requirements.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching core subjects such as Maths, English, or Science up to Key Stage 4.
  • Experience in developing individualised education plans (IEPs) or EHCPs.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies and assistive technologies.
  • Experience working in a small class setting.
