The Opportunity:
As a SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, inclusive education to students aged 9 to 16 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the unique requirements of students with autism and SEMH needs.
- Support students in achieving academic, social, and emotional progress.
- Work closely with other staff to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student learning.
- Prepare students for accredited qualifications and help them reach their full potential.
- Maintain accurate records and assess student progress regularly.
- Provide pastoral support and contribute to the overall well-being of students.
- Collaborate with parents and external agencies to support student development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in special education.
- Experience working with students with autism and SEMH needs.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with curriculum requirements.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience teaching core subjects such as Maths, English, or Science up to Key Stage 4.
- Experience in developing individualised education plans (IEPs) or EHCPs.
- Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies and assistive technologies.
- Experience working in a small class setting.
