Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality learning experiences for individual students or small groups
- Track, record, and report on student progress and communicate outcomes with relevant stakeholders
- Design and implement personalised learning programmes to ensure sustained progression
- Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs)
- Coordinate the teaching, assessment, recording, and reporting of designated subjects or areas of learning
- Organise classroom resources to create a stimulating, safe, and supportive learning environment
- Manage challenging behaviour positively, fostering independence and self-regulation in students
- Ensure Learning Support Assistants, Tutors, and care staff are well-briefed and effectively deployed
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching children with SEN or complex needs (desirable)
- Excellent communication, organisation, and team-working skills
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable with a genuine commitment to supporting every child
Preferred
- Experience working in a specialist SEN setting
- Experience with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Plans (IBPs)
- Knowledge of curriculum frameworks and inclusive teaching strategies
