The Opportunity:

As an SEN Teacher, you will be instrumental in delivering engaging, individualised learning experiences that support the academic, social, and emotional growth of pupils with diverse needs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties and complex needs.
  • Plan and deliver accessible, engaging lessons that promote academic progress and personal development.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs, including EHCP outcomes and developmental goals.
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress across all areas of development.
  • Support the development of communication, independence, emotional regulation, and life skills.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure consistent, high-quality support for pupils.
  • Utilise specialist facilities and resources to enhance learning experiences.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, families, and carers to support each child’s learning journey.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with UK QTS (or equivalent).
  • Experience or a strong interest in working with pupils with SEN, autism, and complex needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
  • Experience in, or willingness to develop skills within, specialist or alternative education settings.
  • Commitment to inclusive practice, pupil wellbeing, and positive behaviour support.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering individualised learning plans.
  • Familiarity with alternative education approaches and strategies for SEN learners.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to reflect on and improve teaching practice.
