The Opportunity:

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of students with complex needs. You will design and deliver a tailored curriculum that supports their growth and development, while working as part of a passionate, multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement high-quality, individualised curriculum plans that meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Create session plans that demonstrate effective differentiation and support for students with a range of abilities.
  • Act as a personal tutor, guiding students toward achieving their EHCP outcomes in independent living and personal resilience.
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver therapeutic and educational support that enhances student well-being and engagement.
  • Support students in vocational and life skills through a variety of outdoor and practical learning opportunities.
  • Coordinate and deliver post-16 PSHE, where applicable, to promote student development and independence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs and autism.
  • Ability to manage complex behaviours and create a structured learning environment.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a passion for learning and personal development in students.
  • Experience working with young people aged 16 to 25.

Preferred

  • Experience in coordinating or delivering post-16 PSHE.
  • Knowledge of National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) and related curricula.
  • Experience with therapeutic approaches in education.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
