Summary:

The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join their team on a 1-year fixed-term contract with the potential for permanent employment. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with a range of special educational needs, including autism and emotional behavioural difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support students with autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD and associated complex needs.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that meet the diverse learning and social needs of students.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to parents, carers, SLT, and Governors.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of student progress and match them to individual targets.
  • Uphold the school’s ethos and core values in all aspects of teaching and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with key workers and the in-house therapeutic team to support students’ educational and care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and professional standards for teachers.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher with QTS or experienced Unqualified Teacher.
  • Significant experience in teaching students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Ability to use appropriate teaching strategies for students with autism and complex needs.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and professional standards.

Preferred

  • Experience in working with students who have emotional behavioural difficulties.
  • Background in autism-specific teaching methods.
  • Experience in developing individualised education plans (IEPs).
