Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and individualized lessons tailored to the needs of students with autism and associated learning difficulties.
  • Collaborate with therapists, support staff, and other teachers to create a cohesive and effective learning experience.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods to meet individual learning goals.
  • Develop and implement behavior management strategies that promote positive engagement and learning.
  • Support students in developing life skills, communication, and social interaction abilities.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance teaching practice.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of vocational and accredited courses for students.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and behavior.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with valid QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Experience working with students with autism and complex learning needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and inclusive education.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching vocational subjects.
  • Knowledge of the Thrive Approach or similar therapeutic frameworks.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and specialized teaching resources.
