Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and individualized lessons tailored to the needs of students with autism and associated learning difficulties.
- Collaborate with therapists, support staff, and other teachers to create a cohesive and effective learning experience.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods to meet individual learning goals.
- Develop and implement behavior management strategies that promote positive engagement and learning.
- Support students in developing life skills, communication, and social interaction abilities.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance teaching practice.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of vocational and accredited courses for students.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and behavior.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with valid QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
- Experience working with students with autism and complex learning needs.
- Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and inclusive education.
- Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching vocational subjects.
- Knowledge of the Thrive Approach or similar therapeutic frameworks.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and specialized teaching resources.
