As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their learning and wellbeing. You will help create a safe, positive environment where students can thrive and reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with their learning and general wellbeing in a safe and caring environment
  • Assist with care needs and positive behaviour management tailored to individual needs
  • Build warm, supportive relationships with students to promote independence and personal development
  • Collaborate with class teachers to deliver high-quality, differentiated educational activities
  • Contribute to the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to individual learning needs
  • Be flexible and adaptable, supporting a range of duties as required
  • Ensure high expectations of behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
  • Work alongside therapeutic and clinical teams to support students’ holistic development

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting
  • GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above qualification
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures
  • Knowledge or experience of working with students with SEN or SEMH/ASD
  • Ability to adapt and support students with individual needs
  • A commitment to putting the child first and treating them as an individual

Preferred

  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own car
  • A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent
  • Experience in a SEN environment
