The Opportunity:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism and related social and communication needs. You will work closely with students to foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with their learning, wellbeing, and care needs in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Promote independence, positive behaviour, and personal development among students.
- Assist in delivering a differentiated and engaging curriculum tailored to individual needs.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure the smooth running of the school.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, behaviour, and health as required.
- Adapt to changing demands and contribute to various aspects of school operations.
- Encourage cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in students.
- Work effectively as part of a multi-professional team to support student success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
- Commitment to student welfare and individualised support.
Preferred
- L3 award in supporting teaching and learning in schools or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Level 2 qualified or equivalent Teaching Assistant.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate between £12.37 and £13.49.
