Summary:

The Opportunity:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism and related social and communication needs. You will work closely with students to foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with their learning, wellbeing, and care needs in a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Promote independence, positive behaviour, and personal development among students.
  • Assist in delivering a differentiated and engaging curriculum tailored to individual needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure the smooth running of the school.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, behaviour, and health as required.
  • Adapt to changing demands and contribute to various aspects of school operations.
  • Encourage cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in students.
  • Work effectively as part of a multi-professional team to support student success.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Commitment to student welfare and individualised support.

Preferred

  • L3 award in supporting teaching and learning in schools or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a Level 2 qualified or equivalent Teaching Assistant.
