The Opportunity:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with SEMH, ASD, and anxiety-related needs in a safe and caring setting. This role is essential in helping students reach their full potential through personalized learning and positive behavior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH, ASD, and anxiety-related needs
  • Assist with learning activities and adapt them to meet individual needs
  • Help manage behavior positively and individually
  • Provide resources and classroom support under teacher guidance
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure a consistent and supportive environment
  • Promote student wellbeing and emotional development
  • Contribute to the creation of individual learning plans
  • Support students in developing independence and life skills

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND
  • Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English
  • A caring, patient, and resilient approach
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Preferred

  • Experience with SEMH or autism support
  • Previous teaching or support assistant experience
  • Knowledge of therapeutic approaches
  • Experience in behaviour management strategies
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies
