The Opportunity:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with SEMH, ASD, and anxiety-related needs, helping them achieve their full potential in a safe and caring setting. This role is vital to ensuring students receive the individualised support they need to succeed academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH, ASD, and anxiety-related needs in a safe and structured environment.
  • Assist with learning activities, adapting resources and approaches as needed.
  • Help manage student behaviour positively and individually, promoting a calm and inclusive classroom.
  • Provide classroom support under the guidance of teachers, ensuring lessons run smoothly.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement individual support plans.
  • Promote the emotional and social wellbeing of students through positive engagement and encouragement.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with teaching staff and parents.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance support strategies and professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • A caring, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
