Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with their learning and general wellbeing to ensure they reach their full potential.
- Establish warm, caring, and supportive relationships with pupils to promote safety, independence, and personal development.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum through differentiated educational activities.
- Work 1:1 with students and in small groups to provide personalized learning experiences.
- Manage positive behaviour and adapt to the individual needs of students.
- Support care needs and contribute to the overall school environment when required.
- Assist with off-site trips and visits using school vehicles, where applicable.
- Be flexible and ready to lend a hand in a variety of tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with SEN students in an employed or voluntary setting.
- GCSE Maths and English Level 3 or above.
- A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent.
Preferred
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
- Experience working with students with ASC/SEMH needs.
- Ability to work 1:1 with students.
