The Opportunity:
We are seeking passionate and experienced SEN Tutors to provide one-to-one and small group in-person tutoring in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are dedicated to making a meaningful impact on students with special needs and ASC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and tailored lessons to students with special educational needs and ASC.
- Create bespoke learning plans that cater to individual student needs and goals.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and motivation.
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school staff to ensure student progress.
- Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
- Attend training sessions and follow the Bright Heart Approach to ensure consistent quality of support.
- Provide regular feedback and updates on student progress and development.
- Maintain a professional and organized approach to all tutoring sessions and documentation.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK.
- A current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong subject knowledge in the tuition subject(s).
- University qualification or studying towards one and A-levels.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) and ASC.
- Passion for teaching and supporting students with learning challenges.
Preferred
- Experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP).
- Availability for in-person tutoring during the daytime.
- Experience with students who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Experience with creating individual learning plans (ILPs).
- Flexibility to tutor in multiple locations across Kent.
