The Opportunity:

We are seeking passionate and experienced SEN Tutors to provide one-to-one and small group in-person tutoring in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are dedicated to making a meaningful impact on students with special needs and ASC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored lessons to students with special educational needs and ASC.
  • Create bespoke learning plans that cater to individual student needs and goals.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and motivation.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school staff to ensure student progress.
  • Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
  • Attend training sessions and follow the Bright Heart Approach to ensure consistent quality of support.
  • Provide regular feedback and updates on student progress and development.
  • Maintain a professional and organized approach to all tutoring sessions and documentation.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK.
  • A current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Strong subject knowledge in the tuition subject(s).
  • University qualification or studying towards one and A-levels.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) and ASC.
  • Passion for teaching and supporting students with learning challenges.

Preferred

  • Experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP).
  • Availability for in-person tutoring during the daytime.
  • Experience with students who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Experience with creating individual learning plans (ILPs).
  • Flexibility to tutor in multiple locations across Kent.
