The Opportunity:

As an SENCo, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and ensuring they achieve their full potential. This is a key position within a school that values inclusivity, innovation, and high standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with special educational needs.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create individualized education plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with special educational needs and adjust support as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on inclusive teaching practices.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
  • Advocate for students with special educational needs within the school community.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to student progress and interventions.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion and support across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status and a degree-level qualification.
  • Proven experience in supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Ability to deliver quality teaching that drives achievement and inspires a love of learning.
  • Experience of achieving positive outcomes for pupils in a school setting.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to working in a team and supporting the school’s leadership specialism.

Preferred

  • Experience of working in a school with a faith designation.
  • Experience of leading or contributing to SEN strategies at a school level.
  • Experience with inclusive curriculum design and implementation.
  • Experience with innovative and creative approaches to teaching and learning.
