The Opportunity:

As SENCo, you will lead the development of a high-quality SEND provision, ensuring that students receive the support they need to thrive. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new SEND strategy and make a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the school’s SEND policy and provision
  • Provide expert guidance to staff and parents on supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and external agencies to create personalized learning strategies
  • Oversee SEND assessment processes and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
  • Implement differentiated teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Support students with complex communication needs, autism, and emotional challenges
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, equality, and high standards of pupil support
  • Contribute to the strategic leadership of the school and the Quality of Education

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • NPQ SENCo qualification
  • Proven experience in a SENCo role
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and inspire staff teams
  • Commitment to inclusion and equality of opportunity
  • Strong understanding of statutory requirements for SEND

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with complex communication needs
  • Background in autism support or associated learning needs
  • Experience in developing and implementing SEND strategies
  • Leadership experience in educational settings
