As SENCo, you will lead the development of a high-quality SEND provision, ensuring that students receive the support they need to thrive. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new SEND strategy and make a real difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the school’s SEND policy and provision
- Provide expert guidance to staff and parents on supporting pupils with additional needs
- Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and external agencies to create personalized learning strategies
- Oversee SEND assessment processes and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Implement differentiated teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students
- Support students with complex communication needs, autism, and emotional challenges
- Promote a culture of inclusion, equality, and high standards of pupil support
- Contribute to the strategic leadership of the school and the Quality of Education
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- NPQ SENCo qualification
- Proven experience in a SENCo role
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and inspire staff teams
- Commitment to inclusion and equality of opportunity
- Strong understanding of statutory requirements for SEND
Preferred
- Experience working with students with complex communication needs
- Background in autism support or associated learning needs
- Experience in developing and implementing SEND strategies
- Leadership experience in educational settings
