The Opportunity:

As a SENCO, you will lead and shape the school's future by designing, implementing, and monitoring a robust inclusion and SEND strategy. This is a key role in ensuring every child, regardless of their starting point, has the opportunity to succeed and thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a whole-school inclusion and SEND strategy.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support systems and interventions.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure a consistent approach to student needs.
  • Provide professional guidance and training to staff on inclusive practices and SEND-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices in special educational needs provision.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to integrate inclusion into the school's overall improvement plan.
  • Support the emotional and academic well-being of students through a therapeutic approach to behaviour management.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations and achievement across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs.
  • Proven leadership experience in a SENCO or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of inclusion strategies and SEND legislation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to a Christian school vision and values.

Preferred

  • Experience with therapeutic approaches to behaviour management.
  • Background in pastoral care or student well-being.
  • Experience in a high-achieving academic environment.
  • Familiarity with data-driven decision-making in education.
