The Opportunity:

As a SENCo and EAL teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and those learning English as an additional language. Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the identification, assessment, and support for students with special educational needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans in collaboration with teachers, parents, and specialists.
  • Deliver high-quality English as an Additional Language instruction aligned with the IB curriculum.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices for supporting SEND and EAL students.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions to ensure effective learning outcomes.
  • Liaise with families, external professionals, and agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Analyze data to inform teaching strategies and improve student achievement.
  • Ensure compliance with international SEN legislation and IB DP accommodations for SEND learners.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Master’s Degree in Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in special educational needs coordination or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of SEN legislation and frameworks within an international school context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with English as an Additional Language learners in an IB setting.

Preferred

  • Experience with IB DP accommodations for students with special educational needs.
  • Familiarity with data analysis to support teaching and learning strategies.
