The Opportunity:
As a SENCo and EAL teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and those learning English as an additional language. Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the identification, assessment, and support for students with special educational needs.
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans in collaboration with teachers, parents, and specialists.
- Deliver high-quality English as an Additional Language instruction aligned with the IB curriculum.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices for supporting SEND and EAL students.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions to ensure effective learning outcomes.
- Liaise with families, external professionals, and agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
- Analyze data to inform teaching strategies and improve student achievement.
- Ensure compliance with international SEN legislation and IB DP accommodations for SEND learners.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Master’s Degree in Education or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in special educational needs coordination or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of SEN legislation and frameworks within an international school context.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with English as an Additional Language learners in an IB setting.
Preferred
- Experience with IB DP accommodations for students with special educational needs.
- Familiarity with data analysis to support teaching and learning strategies.
