The Opportunity:
As a SEND Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional educational needs and medical requirements. This part-time position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student wellbeing and learning outcomes while working within a dedicated and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee provision for students with additional educational needs and medical requirements.
- Liaise with parents, carers, colleagues, and external agencies to ensure appropriate support is in place.
- Support the development and implementation of healthcare plans and access arrangements for exams.
- Attend meetings and collaborate with the SENCO and SEND Learning Mentor to ensure consistent support for students.
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of support strategies and make recommendations for improvement.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on inclusive practices and student support.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student needs and interventions.
- Promote a culture of inclusion and support across the school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with additional educational needs and medical requirements.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
- Understanding of inclusive education practices and support strategies.
- Commitment to student wellbeing and academic success.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting, ideally in a SEND role.
- Knowledge of SEN policy and procedures.
- Experience with healthcare plans and access arrangements for exams.
- Experience in supporting students with a range of additional needs.
