The Opportunity:

As a SEND Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional educational needs and medical requirements. This part-time position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student wellbeing and learning outcomes while working within a dedicated and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee provision for students with additional educational needs and medical requirements.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, colleagues, and external agencies to ensure appropriate support is in place.
  • Support the development and implementation of healthcare plans and access arrangements for exams.
  • Attend meetings and collaborate with the SENCO and SEND Learning Mentor to ensure consistent support for students.
  • Monitor and review the effectiveness of support strategies and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on inclusive practices and student support.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student needs and interventions.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion and support across the school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with additional educational needs and medical requirements.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
  • Understanding of inclusive education practices and support strategies.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and academic success.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting, ideally in a SEND role.
  • Knowledge of SEN policy and procedures.
  • Experience with healthcare plans and access arrangements for exams.
  • Experience in supporting students with a range of additional needs.
