As a SEND Maths Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality Maths lessons tailored to the needs of students with Autism and SEMH needs.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages learning and personal growth.
- Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students across key stages.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support student progress and well-being.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting teaching approaches as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, and child welfare policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths, with the ability to teach across key stages (KS1–KS4).
- Experience in planning, delivering, and assessing engaging Maths lessons for students with diverse learning needs.
- Understanding of SEND and a commitment to inclusive education.
- Ability to differentiate learning and use creative approaches to engage pupils with varied abilities.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a safe, supportive learning environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience working in a special needs setting.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) or other specialist areas.
- Experience with behaviour management strategies for students with SEMH needs.
