The Opportunity:

As a SEND Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEND through tailored interventions and individualized learning plans.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to enhance the learning experience of students.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group support to help students develop academic and social skills.
  • Maintain positive and constructive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of activities that promote independence and confidence in pupils.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, providing valuable feedback to the teaching team.
  • Contribute to the development of inclusive classroom environments that encourage participation and engagement.
  • Follow school policies and procedures to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience working with children in a school setting.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build positive relationships with students and staff.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering one-to-one and small group support.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices and SEND frameworks.
  • Experience in a school with a leadership or character development focus.
