Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver individualised learning plans tailored to the needs of students with complex needs.
  • Support students with autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD, and associated challenges in a structured and safe environment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure consistent support and communication across the school.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student development and communicate effectively with parents and carers.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being through consistent and supportive interactions.
  • Participate in staff training and professional development to enhance teaching practices and support strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of school policies and procedures that support inclusive education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with valid QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Experience working with students with complex needs, including autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, and ADHD.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage challenging behaviour in a supportive and structured environment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in SEN education and supporting students with co-morbid diagnoses.
  • Familiarity with vocational and academic qualifications for students with complex needs.
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Previous involvement in developing individual education plans (IEPs).
