The Opportunity:

As a SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering creative, person-centred education to up to 8 learners in the Secondary phase. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of autistic young people, helping them achieve their full potential in a supportive and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, person-centred lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of all students in your care.
  • Support learners in achieving outcomes outlined in their individualised learning and person-centred plans.
  • Design and implement schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with curriculum requirements.
  • Collaborate with allied health professionals as part of a trans-disciplinary team to support student progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special education, specifically working with autistic learners.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND frameworks and person-centred approaches.
  • Experience in delivering creative and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a trans-disciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with the Ambitious Approach to autism education.
  • Previous experience in curriculum development for special needs students.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with parents, carers, and professionals.
