The Opportunity:

As a SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with learning difficulties and ASD. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, inclusive environment where your teaching and leadership will directly contribute to student growth and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons tailored to the needs of students with learning difficulties and ASD.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement a curriculum that supports student progress across all subjects.
  • Support students in building essential life skills and preparing for adulthood through a range of vocational and accredited courses.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Work closely with support staff and other professionals to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in staff development and training to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
  • Contribute to the school’s wider curriculum offer, including cultural capital and enrichment activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with school and Trust policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special education, specifically working with students with learning difficulties and ASD.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND teaching strategies and inclusive practices.
  • Experience in delivering a range of curriculum subjects, including Humanities and vocational courses.
  • Commitment to student welfare and a child-centred approach to education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in Key Stage 3 and 4 teaching environments.
  • Familiarity with BTEC and vocational qualifications.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
  • Background in a Multi Academy Trust or similar educational setting.
