The Opportunity:
As a SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with learning difficulties and ASD. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, inclusive environment where your teaching and leadership will directly contribute to student growth and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons tailored to the needs of students with learning difficulties and ASD.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement a curriculum that supports student progress across all subjects.
- Support students in building essential life skills and preparing for adulthood through a range of vocational and accredited courses.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
- Work closely with support staff and other professionals to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in staff development and training to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
- Contribute to the school’s wider curriculum offer, including cultural capital and enrichment activities.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in line with school and Trust policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in special education, specifically working with students with learning difficulties and ASD.
- Strong knowledge of SEND teaching strategies and inclusive practices.
- Experience in delivering a range of curriculum subjects, including Humanities and vocational courses.
- Commitment to student welfare and a child-centred approach to education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in Key Stage 3 and 4 teaching environments.
- Familiarity with BTEC and vocational qualifications.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
- Background in a Multi Academy Trust or similar educational setting.
