The Opportunity:
As a SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, inclusive education tailored to meet the complex needs of students. This position is ideal for educators passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of young people with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, individualised lessons tailored to the diverse needs of students with complex needs
- Support students in developing confidence, independence, and a love for learning
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive, structured learning environment
- Prepare and mark assessments, and maintain accurate records and reports
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers about student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive educational approach
- Oversee and contribute to the science curriculum and other academic subjects
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practice
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
- Minimum of two years’ experience working in a SEND environment or similar setting
- Strong commitment to supporting students with complex needs and challenging behaviours
Preferred
- Experience in teaching History or other academic subjects
- Familiarity with the National Curriculum and adapted learning frameworks
- Experience in working with students with autism or SEMH needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
