The Opportunity:

As a SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, inclusive education tailored to meet the complex needs of students. This position is ideal for educators passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of young people with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, individualised lessons tailored to the diverse needs of students with complex needs
  • Support students in developing confidence, independence, and a love for learning
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive, structured learning environment
  • Prepare and mark assessments, and maintain accurate records and reports
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers about student progress
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive educational approach
  • Oversee and contribute to the science curriculum and other academic subjects
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practice

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in a SEND environment or similar setting
  • Strong commitment to supporting students with complex needs and challenging behaviours

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching History or other academic subjects
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum and adapted learning frameworks
  • Experience in working with students with autism or SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
